ABOUT
Buongiorno, mi chiamo Amanda Donnelly.
​
I have a Combined Honours BA in Italian and French from Exeter University and I speak excellent Italian having both studied the language formally and lived in Italy.
I have been teaching Italian to all ages and at all levels in my home in the centre of Sherborne since 2015. Classes and private tuition are available throughout the year. I am passionate about Italy and the Italian language and I travel there several times a year. I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm with you.

ITALIAN IN DORSET
LESSONS
All lessons take place in my home in Sherborne which ensures a relaxed, but studious atmosphere. There is a maximum of 7 people in the group lessons and all lessons include a choice of tea or coffee and biscuits.
GROUP LESSONS
Beginners Holiday Italian
This is a fun 10 week conversation course and is designed to give you all the Italian you need to travel, eat and chat on holiday i.e. greetings, introducing yourself and others, saying where you're from and a little bit about yourself and your family, ordering food and drinks in a restaurant or bar, shopping, buying bus and train tickets, asking directions etc.
The next course will start on Tuesday 14th January 2025 at 2pm. It costs £17 per one and a half hour lesson.
​Post Beginners
The next level up from the Holiday Italian. The lesson is divided equally between the study of basic Italian grammar and simple Italian conversation. Post Beginner lessons cost £20 per one and a half hour lesson and they are held on Mondays at 2pm.

Intermediate
The lesson is divided equally between Italian grammar and conversation . At this level conversation can include topics of interest to the group, audio clips, simple short stories etc. Intermediate lessons cost £17 and are held on Thursday mornings at 11am.

Advanced
This group meets for one and a half hours on Thursdays
at 3pm. They cost £20 and the emphasis is on spoken
Italian
​
Private lessons, GCSE and A level
Individual lessons are available at all levels and are priced at £30 per hour. They are tailored to the needs and wishes of the individual.
